Overview

VIDIZMO understands that User Generated Content (UGC) can sometimes deviate from the brand's appropriate guidelines, posing risks of spam, unwanted, or abusive content being uploaded to the portal. To address this concern, VIDIZMO has implemented a strong content moderation policy by letting you set the required number of moderators. Moderators are needed in any online platform and communities where user-generated content is present, they maintain community guidelines, prevent abuse, and create a positive and safe user experience by performing content moderation.

This policy ensures that the content approval process is thorough and adaptable to different organizational needs, thereby safeguarding the authenticity and accuracy of all published content.

Note:  This article has been revised for version 9 and above. For users employing earlier versions, enabling the user content moderation policy can be achieved by navigating to the Library and selecting the "User Generated Content" option. It's important to note that the core functionality remains consistent across all versions.

Prerequisites

You must have either a Manager or Admin user role within the portal.

Configuring Content Moderation Policy

Accessing Portal’s Settings

  1. From the Portal's Home page, click on the navigation menu on the top left of your screen.
  2. Expand the Admin tab.
  3. Click on Portal Settings, and you'll be directed to the Portal Settings page.

Configuring Content Moderation Policy

4. In the Portal Settings pane, click on the Library tab to reveal its options.

5. From the options displayed, select Upload Settings from the menu.

6. Check the Allow User Generated Content (UGC) box to allow all Portal users to upload content. Leaving it unchecked will restrict uploading by users with viewer roles.

7. Enable the Allow Content Moderation checkbox to enforce content moderation.

8. In the Required Number of Moderators field, set the count of moderators needed to review and approve content before it can be published.

9. If you want content submitted by moderators to go through the moderation workflow as well, enable the "Enforce Policy for Content Submitted by Moderators" checkbox.

20. To allow moderators to approve their own content without requiring approval from other moderators, enable the "Allow Users to Approve Their Own Changes" option.

11. Finally, click on the Update button to save changes.

VIDIZMO's proactive approach to content moderation underlines its commitment to fostering a safe and compliant online environment for its users.
