Introduction

In VIDIZMO, a playlist is a curated collection of audio and video content logically arranged to enable viewers to consume the media sequentially, facilitating a structured comprehension of the content. On VIDIZMO, you have the option to create several playlists for organizing your media files.

The content can be organized in different playlists to ensure easy access. Playlists offer a comfortable browsing experience by enabling users to stream relevant content in one sitting without going through the hassle of searching subject-based content with unwanted delays. Moreover, the tracking of content within the playlist is independent of devices. Thus, viewers can pause surfing the content at any instance and can resume from where they left off, irrespective of the device they are using.

Key Benefits of Playlists in VIDIZMO

Playlists offer many valuable advantages when optimizing content management within the VIDIZMO portal. One of the standout benefits is the ability to uphold content quality standards. Allowing only published media to be included in playlists ensures that viewers are presented with content that meets the highest quality and relevance criteria.

Furthermore, playlists empower your content management team, specifically Administrators, Managers, and Moderators. These key users are authorized to create, edit, and delete playlists, giving them the creative control to curate viewing experiences that align precisely with your content strategy.

Security and selective access also play a pivotal role in the playlist feature's benefits. Using the Portal's Security Policy, you can share playlists only with users with the necessary viewing access. This helps ensure that content distribution adheres to your established security protocols.

Finally, the impact on audience engagement cannot be understated. Playlists serve as meticulously curated pathways through your media library, making content discovery effortless for viewers. This seamless navigation boosts engagement and extends viewer watch time, contributing to a more enriched and satisfying viewing experience overall.

VIDIZMO playlist offers benefits that enhance content management, elevate engagement, and foster meaningful user interactions.

Roles and Permissions

Administrators, Managers, and Moderators, as well as Contributor and Viewer user roles, have the capability to create playlists. Viewer+ users can create private playlists exclusive to their account. However, Administrators, Managers, and Moderators possessing these roles, retain the authority to edit and delete playlists. Users with these roles can also grant permission for Viewer and Contributor roles to access or view other playlists.

Save As Draft: In VIDIZMO, users can save playlists as drafts by checking a designated checkbox in the "Settings - Playlist" section. Otherwise, any changes made to the video will result in automatic publication. This feature provides flexibility and precise control over the publishing process.

Basic Settings: The user needs to define the Title, Category, Tags, Description and Author's Name. A random thumbnail for the content is set by VIDIZMO. However, a user can upload a custom thumbnail.

Publishing settings

The Publish tab allows the user to set sharing and embedding options along with the following:

Player Template

When using VIDIZMO, users can customize how their playlists are shared and embedded by going to the "Publish" tab. They can select a player template from a dropdown menu and adjust the completion criteria percentage by dragging a button. Additionally, users have the option to choose a certificate template, which is recommended when using the Learning Management System (LMS).

To gain a better understanding, refer to How to Change Default Player Template.

Sharing and Embedding Playlists

Users can easily share the playlist with others by checking the "Allow sharing" box. Similarly, the "Allow embedding" option empowers users to seamlessly embed the playlist on external websites or platforms, broadening its reach and accessibility.

Playlist Settings

  • Enforce Order: Enforce Order allows you to force viewers to first completely view the media in the list before moving on to the next file in the playlist. If this option is enabled, the media listed later in the list is also disabled (grayed out) and not available for viewing even if the viewer wishes to view it.
  • Auto Advance: Enabling this feature allows viewers to watch media sequentially without having to manually select the next media from the list.
  • Loop: As the name suggests, the playlist will loop back to the first after playing back the last media on the list. All the media files continue to play in a loop until the playlist is paused or stopped manually.

Access and Sharing

The "Access and Sharing" tab in Playlist Settings offers comprehensive control over playlist availability and accessibility, neatly categorized for ease of use. Such as who can access the playlist, from where and the time during which it will be available and then expire.

  • Access Control: Personalize playlist access based on your requirements. Choose from options such as All Account and Portal Viewers, All Portal Viewers, Anonymous Viewers with link access, Only Me for exclusive ownership, or opt for Limited Sharing to grant specific permissions.
  • Limited Sharing: Define granular permissions for sharing with users, groups, or external audiences. Strengthen security by implementing passwords for controlled access, allowing only authorized viewers.
  • Source Selection: Choose access sources: Portal Library or Featured Media.
  • Availability Schedule: Set exact start and expiration dates and times for playlist access.
