Before you start

Before beginning to use Elasticsearch, the prerequisite that should be in place to ensure a smooth and successful deployment. The prerequisite include:

  • Set up Docker Authentication
  • Set up Docker Container
  • Configure Elastic Search on VLMS
  • Elastic Search Data Sync Activity

Enable Elastic Search at Portal Level


Enabling Elastic Search at the portal level allows you to use Elastic Search as the search provider for your portal. To enable Elastic Search at the portal level, follow these steps:


From the Portal’s Homepage, log in using Administrator or Manager credentials. 

1. Click on the menu icon on the top left-hand corner of the screen to bring up the left navigation pane. 

2. Then click on the arrow to expand the admin section. 

3. Select Setting to open the Portal Settings navigation panel.



From the Portal Settings navigation pane: 

    4. Click on the Library to expand the list of operations that can be performed. 

    5. Select Elastic Search.

    6. Enable 'Elastic Search' option and click on the checkbox to enable it. 

    7. To save the changes Once you have configured the Elastic Search settings, click on the 'Update' button.




Explanation: Enabling Elastic Search at the portal level allows you to use Elastic Search as the search provider for your portal. This means that your portal will use Elastic Search to index and search for content.
