Introduction

Within the VIDIZMO, the tracking of user-defined objects in Studio Space has been significantly enhanced by harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence. This feature helps streamline and elevate the process of object tracking. The primary objective of this functionality is to improve tracking accuracy and efficiency.

Concept

In the past, tracking customized objects within a studio space necessitated meticulous manual intervention. However, this approach demanded users to manually follow the object frame by frame, which could be exceedingly burdensome—particularly when managing extended videos or numerous custom objects. This manual tracking procedure could consume hours, and maintaining accuracy throughout presented challenges.

To make object tracking more straightforward and effective, VIDIZMO utilizes the capabilities of artificial intelligence. The VIDIZMO Automatic Tracking of Custom Objects feature recognizes the custom object of interest within the video. Subsequently, the AI-driven tracking system analyzes the video and automatically tracks the identified object throughout the video's entire duration. This automated approach significantly decreases the necessity for manual intervention.

Key Benefits

  • Enhanced Efficiency: Automation reduces the need for manual monitoring and adjustment, saving both time and effort.
  • Improved Accuracy: Advanced algorithms ensure precise object identification and tracking, minimizing errors.
  • User-Friendly: The Studio Space UI features a user-friendly interface with a separate button for enabling automatic tracking.
  • Multi-Object Analysis: The system can track multiple custom objects simultaneously, enabling comprehensive analysis and understanding of complex scenarios.

How It Works

To track a custom object in a video, simply click the "Auto tracking" button in the studio space of the selected object of interest. Our advanced object-tracking algorithms will accurately identify and distinguish the custom object from its surroundings. Once the video playback begins, our system takes over and continuously analyzes the object's movement, speed, and trajectory. By processing this data, the system can predict the object's path and maintain focus throughout the video without requiring manual adjustment.

The VIDIZMO auto-tracking functionality enables users to specify the starting and ending durations for the object they intend to track within a video. This provides users with the flexibility to track an object within a video for any desired duration they choose.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure you have administrative or manager access to your VIDIZMO Portal.
  • Confirm that your package includes the redaction feature.
  • Verify that the VIDIZMO Indexer is configured and enabled in your portal for object detection and enhanced searchability.

Note:  Follow our step-by-step guide, "Configuring VIDIZMO Indexer for Object Detection," to enable the powerful object detection capabilities of VIDIZMO Indexer in your portal.

Auto-Tracking Steps

Follow the steps to start auto-tracking of custom Objects in Studio Space.

  1. Navigate to the section within the VIDIZMO portal where your media files are stored.
  2. To access Studio Space, directly click on the overflow menu on the media file and select the relevant option to initiate your intended action.

For a detailed step-by-step guide, refer to "Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Redaction Tool in VIDIZMO."

3. Manually draw bounding boxes around the objects you intend to track. These objects will be displayed in the left panel section for your reference. From the list of identified objects, select the specific one you wish to track.

Note: You can leverage the "Auto Detection" feature located in the top ribbon pane of the Studio Space. This function will trigger the automatic detection of objects within the video. The identified objects will be conveniently displayed in the left panel section, offering a comprehensive outline of the recognized elements.

For detailed instructions on how to effectively employ auto-detection, refer to the "Auto Detection for Objects" article.

4.  Click on the overflow menu, represented by three dots, located next to the selected object.

5.  Choose the "Auto Tracking" option from the overflow menu. This action will prompt a dialog box to appear.

6.  Within the dialog box, define the start time and end time to pinpoint the exact video segment for object tracking.

7.  To initiate automated tracking, simply click on the green checkmark button within the time duration dialogue box. This action will initiate the auto-tracking process for the selected objects.

Monitoring Object Tracking Progress

8. As the auto-tracking workflow begins, access the "Settings" option in Studio Space. This option will allow you to track the progress of the auto-tracking process, ensuring a clear view of the ongoing work.

9. The duration for which the object has been successfully auto-tracked in the video will be displayed beneath the selected object.

Bulk Object Tracking

  1. Begin by activating the "Select ALL" option to choose multiple objects for tracking simultaneously.
  2. Locate the "Auto Track" button positioned next to the selected All option. Click on this button.
  3. Define the desired time duration for tracking objects within the video.
  4. Click on the green checkmark button within the time duration dialogue box to initiate automatic tracking of bulk objects.

Auto Tracking Using Context Menu

  1. Draw bounding boxes manually around the objects for tracking.
  2. Right-click on a bounding box to access a context menu for automatic tracking.
  3. Select "Auto Tracking" from the context menu. A dialog box will appear as a result.
  4. Define the start and end times within the dialog box to specify the video segment for tracking.
  5. Click the start button within the time duration dialog box to initiate automated tracking for the chosen object.

Note:  To address inaccuracies in object tracking data, the "Split" option can be employed. This functionality divides the object tracking data into two distinct objects, allowing for focused correction.
