  • What are the different hosting and support models for VIDIZMO?

    1) Bring Your Own Cloud (VIDIZMO Managed):

VIDIZMO software installation in the customer’s cloud/ Azure account is the preferred model for most enterprise customers. The customer only pays for VIDIZMO software licenses and services to install and manage VIDIZMO. Since VIDIZMO is installed in the customer’s cloud account, the customer retains full control over VIDIZMO environment and is free to enforce their own security and policies. In this scenario, the customer remains responsible for all cloud consumption costs, however, the customer pays the lowest rate negotiated directly with a cloud provider for CPU, Storage, Streaming, Encoding, Media Services, etc.

    2) Dedicated VIDIZMO-Provided Cloud (VIDIZMO Managed):

In this case, VIDIZMO is responsible for all costs such as VIDIZMO software, cloud consumption, etc. Customers' IT and security policies are enforced by VIDIZMO to the extent possible.

    3) Shared Cloud SaaS Model (VIDIZMO Managed):

This is the most cost-efficient solution suitable for small to medium-size enterprises with less stringent compliance and security requirements. This is a multi-tenant environment in which the customer pays a fixed yearly subscription fee that includes base software, Client Access Licenses (CAL), storage, encoding, and streaming costs, for one or more tenants (account or Portals). Customer's demo or test accounts are typically hosted in this model.

    4) On-Premise Data Center or Private Cloud (Customer Managed):

In this case, the customer purchases VIDIZMO server software and CAL (Client Access Licenses) as the software is either installed on-premises or in a customer's private cloud (such as Azure, Amazon, Google, etc.). Software installation and configuration is either done by the customer or VIDIZMO's service team can be engaged to install the software as required. The customer is then responsible for managing all VIDIZMO software upgrades and updates, with the option to avail Tier 2 or Tier 3 support from VIDIZMO.

  • For cloud deployment, what is the most common implementation method utilized by your customers?

Most often, enterprise customers use their own Microsoft Azure account while utilizing their enterprise agreement with Microsoft. VIDIZMO is then hosted within the customer’s Azure Account which helps the customer's IT retain control of VIDIZMO application hosting, storage, encoding, streaming, content delivery network, etc. This allows IT to control/manage VIDIZMO with their other assets stored in Azure. VIDIZMO is also connected to the customer's active directory, SharePoint, LMS, CMS, etc. Each Portal within VIDIZMO is also configured to use a separate Azure Cloud subscription to allow separate internal costing/billing for each department within an organization. Microsoft Azure Cloud allows multiple subscriptions within one cloud account. As a result, the customer is able to create subscriptions to be used by VIDIZMO application and provides VIDIZMO team access to those subscriptions so they can perform management or update functions.

Another popular choice is to use VIDIZMO's Azure Shared Cloud or private cloud to utilize this service. We have noticed more customers opting for SaaS due to its ease of use, speediness of deployment and management, as well as its cost-effectiveness.
