Overview
VIDIZMO allows you to select different domain options for your Account/Portal based on your preference including directory, sub-domain, and custom domain. This domain is a part of the URL used to access your Account/Portal, navigating your media portal, media playback, etc.

Note: If you have multiple Portals in your Account, each can be configured to use any of these options separately.
Concept
Subdomain
Subdomain is a prefix added to a domain name to separate a section of your website. Subdomain are created to organize and navigate to different sections of your website. The only domain which is not a part of the subdomain is a root domain. For instance: south.hemisphere.com and north.hemisphere.com are subdomains of hemisphere.com domain. This option allows you to select a subdomain under any of the two VIDIZMO domains: vidizmo.com or enterprisetube.com. You can use a friendly name, such as your organization or department name as a subdomain, so your Portal address would be like http://yourorganization.vidizmo.com as an example.
VIDIZMO automatically checks whether the Portal name is already in use by someone by checking the VIDIZMO database. As you type the name in the text field it lets you know by the checkmark or an error message informing you about its unavailability.
Directory
This option allows you to use a subdirectory or folder structure under the primary domain: vidizmo.com or enterprisetube.com so your Portal address would be like http://vidizmo.com/yourorganization as an example.
So, creating a directory helps large organizations establish a better brand image for their business. It becomes easy for employees to for inter department use as they can create multiple portals specific for each department having the primary domain.
Custom Domain
This option allows you to use your primary domain or subdomain based on your preference, such as so your Portal's address would be similar to http://media.yourdomain.com or http://www.yourdomain.com As many times customers prefer to use their own domain rather than using the one VIDIZMO provides, and they can easily use any domain they purchased from any domain providers.
Note: In case of opting to that option, the user will have to provide his own SSL Certificate.
HTTPS Only
Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is the secure version of HTTP, the protocol over which data is sent between your browser and the website that you are connected to. HTTPS Only options allow you to always use HTTPS protocol which ensures a secure connection where possible to encrypt your Account information or any data exchanged between your browser and VIDIZMO.
This option is supported out of the box with subdomain or directory under SaaS model and does not require any additional steps other than checking this box. For configuring HTTPS on-premise, you will require your SSL certificate for your domain or subdomain. To know how it works, check out How to Configure your Portal to Use HTTPS only.
