Overview

VIDIZMO offers a highly secure environment to users. The platform allows content segregation in the form of various Portals. Portal users can be restricted from commenting on any other media except those that are already present in the Portal they are registered in.

To learn about other options in Portal's Security, read here: Understanding Portal's Security Policies.

Steps

Administrators and Managers are able to limit user participation, including restricting commenting, so that only registered Portal Users are able to do so. You can do this through the Portal's Security Policy option.

I. From the Portal's Homepage:

1. Click on the navigation menu on the top left of your screen.

2. Expand the Admin tab.

3. Click on Control Panel.

Note: By default, Internal, Restricted, and Hidden Security Policy Types allow you to restrict commenting for Portal users exclusively, and can be used without further configuration. Below are the steps to configure it via Custom Security Policy.

II. From the Manage Portal navigation pane in the Control Panel:

1. Expand the Security tab.

2. Then, click on the Security Policy.

3. Select the Custom tab to define your own policy. This will allow you to define custom settings for your Portal's accessibility and viewing.

4. Under Portal Access Type, expand the User Participation dropdown and select All Portal Users. You can allow participation on your Portal for the following:

  • Authenticated Users: Administrators and Managers can authenticate certain viewers granting them access to content.
  • All Portal Users: Only Portal viewers are granted access. [See Step 3 for exception]

Click the Update button to restrict commenting for Portal users.

      5. A notification will be displayed briefly stating: Portal details updated successfully.

You can log out to check if you are being allowed to comment on a Portal's media.

Note: Only Portal Users can access media and participate, but they must either be invited or added. By allowing participation, users are allowed to register their feedback on the media.

III. If you are applying this policy from a sub-Portal in your Account, the User Participation dropdown will have another option for you to select from i.e. All (Account Name) And Other Portal Users.

Note: Alternatively, there is also an option in the Portal Settings > Library > Comments settings where is possible to enable or disable comments for the entire portal. If you disable commenting from that option, none of the Portal Users will be able to comment on any media. Learn more about this option by reading this article: How to Configure Comments in Portal
